The Joy of Being a Site Coordinator

We have just finished our 4th week of site at St. Mark’s UMC, and Project Transformation is already impacting my life! I have previously served with Project Transformation as a youth intern in summer 2010 at Walnut Hill UMC, and now am the Site Coordinator at St. Marks. The ability to equip and lead a team of ten interns to put on only the best possible programming for our students has been quite the life-changing experience. Everyday I get to go to site with my team and see the results of their hard work of planning for the students, and everyday I get to see the students’ faces light up at the activities they get to participate in.

My favorite part of our program so far is the reading program. I have had the chance to read with many of our students, and that experience in itself is so rewarding. Our kids are truly eager to read everyday, and their faces are so excited when they finish a book and get to pick something new to read. Overall, I absolutely love being a site coordinator at St. Mark’s! In the past four weeks, I have learned so much about leadership, and I am so eager for what is in store for the rest of the summer.
